    If I book a package now and switch to room only when discounts are out, I heard they will cancel and make a new reservation. Would they affect the ADR made with the old reservation since they require you to link it to book 180+10, not just a phone no?Thx!

    I'm so excited to hear that you're planning your first Walt Disney World vacation!  You're going to have an amazing time.  I can tell you from my own experience that any changes you make to your resort or package reservations will not impact the dining reservations you already have in place.  Those will remain in place with the same confirmation numbers.  If you need to cancel or modify your dining reservations, that's a separate step that you can either do online or by calling (407) WDW-DINE (939-3463).
