How do you book more than one room on a single reservation? We plan on taking a large group of family members, but would like seperate living spaces.

    Hi Nancy!

Welcome to planDisney! The Walt Disney World Resort is an excellent choice for extended family to vacation together. We often travel with my parents and invite our adult siblings and their families. I am currently planning an epic three family stay at Disney’s BoardWalk Villas for this summer!

Currently, the way Disney does room bookings does not allow for multiple rooms to fall under one reservation number. Each room you book will need to have an individual reservation. If this is a standard Guest reservation, you can book online at My Disney Experience, over the phone, or with a Travel Agent. If you will be booking with Disney Vacation Club Vacation Points, you can book online or by calling Member Services. If you do this over the phone or with a travel agent, they can add a code to the reservation that lets your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel know that you are traveling as a group, and add a request for your rooms to be near each other. If you book online, you should then call with the reservation numbers to have this code added. It’s important to know that this is only a request, and while Disney Cast Members will do their very best, it is not a guarantee that your rooms will be close. Sometimes, too much togetherness isn’t a good thing, so when our rooms have been further apart we just roll with it and look at it as a benefit!

I agree that having separate living spaces will make a more enjoyable vacation for everyone. You may want to consider Disney’s Deluxe Villa accommodations which are available as Deluxe Studios, or 1, 2, or 3 Bedroom Villas. With a larger party, we love the convenience of having a full kitchen, a washer and dryer in the room, and separate sleeping spaces which are part of the 1 Bedroom and larger villas. I find serving breakfast to the group from the full kitchen saves us quite a bit of money, and we save time not dealing with breakfast once we arrive in the theme parks. The washer and dryer mean less to pack, and never underestimate the value of drying everyone’s bathing suits between visits to the pool!

I hope you’ll come back with more questions as your big adventure gets closer. I always enjoy helping larger groups plan their visits.

    Have a Magical Day!
