Hi if we were to book our holiday for Disney now is it possible to add the dining plan on at a later date?

Welcome to planDisney, Nicola! Your Walt Disney World holiday will be here before you know it, and I’m so glad you asked about one of the most exciting parts of planning any visit: the food.

If you’re staying at a Disney Resort hotel, you can book a Disney Resort Hotel Package and choose to include one of the Disney Dining Plans. These plans offer the convenience of prepaid meals and snacks at more than 200 dining locations throughout Walt Disney World, making it easier to enjoy everything from quick bites to relaxing table-service meals. You can choose between the Disney Dining Plan and the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan, depending on how you prefer to dine during your trip.

The great news is that you don’t have to decide on a dining plan right away. Even if you book your holiday now, you can add a Disney Dining Plan to your existing vacation package later, as long as it’s done no later than the day before your arrival. That flexibility can be especially helpful if you’re still finalizing plans or waiting to see how your itinerary comes together.

When you’re ready to add a dining plan, simply log into your Disney account, select “My Plans,” locate your reservation, and choose the option to change or modify it. From there, you should be able to add the dining plan to your package. If you run into any issues, a quick call to Disney Resort Hotel Reservations can work wonders. A Cast Member will be happy to review your booking and help get everything set up.

If you think you may use table-service meals as part of your dining plan, it’s a good idea to plan ahead by making advance dining reservations. As a Disney Resort hotel Guest, you can book dining for your entire stay (for up to 10 nights) starting 60 days before your arrival date. Booking early gives you the best chance at popular restaurants. My own family loves sitting down together to choose our dining reservations ahead of time. It’s one of our favorite ways to start building excitement before the trip even begins.

I hope this helps you plan your holiday with confidence, Nicola. If you have any other questions as you continue preparing for your visit, we’ll always be delighted to welcome you back here at planDisney.

    Bon appétit!
