I want to book a ,great deal,10 yr Anniversary vacation for my husband and I. Dates Dec. 17-22 of 2024. We have never been but would love the experience. Please help I don’t know where to start.

Hi there, Anita, and welcome to planDisney! I’m just thrilled that you’re here with this great question about visiting Walt Disney World Resort for your anniversary! What an incredible milestone! There’s no place that makes a celebration quite as special as the Most Magical Place on Earth.

Anita, I’m going to be very candid with you, because that’s what friends do, and you have a friend in me! It’s absolutely possible to book and plan a Walt Disney World Resort vacation on short notice. However, many Guests choose to plan their visit a year or more in advance. The type-A planner in me wants you to have as much time as possible to learn about your options and prepare for your visit. The holiday season is an amazing time to go to Walt Disney World Resort, and it’s also a busy time to visit. Availability for Disney Resorts Collection hotels might be limited, so I want to prepare you for that possibility. However, you should still be able to secure Disney Theme Park tickets and experience plenty of amazing dining and attractions during your visit!

When planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation, I like to start with a Disney Resorts Collection hotel booking. Staying in the magic makes my vacation all the more enjoyable, and the amazing amenities, unbeatable location, and complimentary transportation are game-changers. Once I’ve chosen a Resort, I add Disney Theme Park tickets to my vacation package. I like to purchase a standard ticket because I like to visit one park per day and maximize my time there, rather than park hop. I also like to add a dining plan to my vacation package. This helps me budget ahead of time and it streamlines my spending. As my vacation draws near, I develop a schedule based on the Park Hours Calendar during the days I’ll be visiting. Based on my itinerary, I make Advance Dining Reservations and select Lightning Lane options for each day of my vacation.

Be sure to download the My Disney Experience Mobile App and get familiar with navigating it before your visit. My favorite feature is the Map, where you can locate everything from attractions to restrooms and view wait times and nearby Character experiences. Prepare as much as possible by visiting the Walt Disney World website, Disney Parks Blog, and the planDisney website so you can watch videos and read helpful articles.

Since you’ll be celebrating an anniversary, be sure to stop by Guest Services to pick up a complimentary button that you can wear to let everyone know you’re celebrating. Cast Members will love to take the opportunity to wish you their best!

Anita, I can imagine that this might be a little overwhelming. I’m here to help you make sense of all of the information! Please stop back by planDisney with any other questions you have as you continue to plan your anniversary getaway! I’d love to help you make it super special!

    See you real soon!
