Welcome Home, Melanie! Thanks so much for paying us a visit at the
Disney Vacation Club corner of planDisney. It's always a great day to chat about all things DVC, and I'm happy to help with your question regarding how Members can use their
Vacation Points for all sorts of Disney adventures.
It looks like you are hoping to book a last-minute stay at
Disneyland Resort--what a great idea! I visited The Happiest Place on Earth this summer for the first time with my planDisney pals Jenna and Melissa, and we had a great time exploring the parks, hotels, and Downtown Disney. I'm happy to report that Disney Vacation Club Members can use points to stay at
Disney Collection Hotels in Florida, California, Paris, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. This is accomplished by exchanging Vacation Points for Reservation Points--it's also the process you would use if you wished to use points for a sailing on
Disney Cruise Line.
To get an idea of how many points are needed for a stay at
Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, you can refer to the
Points Charts for the Disneyland hotels. In order to make an exchange to reserve a room, you will need to contact
Member Services. They can check availability and complete the transaction. Melanie, do keep in mind that a points exchange carries a one-time, nonrefundable fee (currently $95, subject to change), and once the points are converted they will no longer be able to be used for a DVC booking.
I hope this information is helpful, and I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that you can snag a reservation for some fun in the California sun. Thanks again for stopping by planDisney, and please visit us anytime if we can help with additional questions!
Stay Magical!
