We are going to book a Disney cruise and then spend a week a wdw. Is there any way we can work in a tour of port canaveral either before boarding the cruise ship or disembarking?

Welcome aboard, Margaret! Combining a Disney cruise with a Walt Disney World Resort visit is the best of both worlds! I'm so glad you'll get to enjoy the surf and turf with Disney!

If you arrive the day before your cruise sets sail (which is always recommended just in case of flight delays or cancellations), you'll have plenty of time to explore the areas around Port Canaveral if you have a rental car or arrange private transportation. On embarkation day, guests must be onboard the ship no later than 4:00 p.m., so you could even do a quick tour around Port Canaveral the morning that you set sail as long as you allow enough time to make it to the port for check in and boarding.

I'd really recommend trying to explore Port Canaveral before you set sail. After your disembark the cruise on your final morning, you can arrange to have Disney Cruise Line's ground transportation take you directly from the port terminal to your Walt Disney World resort. There is an additional fee of $35 per person each way for this service, but I promise it is well worth it, as Disney takes care of all of the details, making your transition from sea back to land very easy! This service is also available from the airport to the port on the day you set sail, but you might want to arrange private transportation instead if you plan on exploring Port Canaveral before setting sail. Disney Cruise Line's ground transportation requires advanced reservations, so be sure to add that to your cruise reservations as you book.

I hope that helps as you continue to plan your magical voyage at sea, Margaret! Let me know if I can help with anything else before you set sail!
