Welcome Aboard, Michel!
Since I am a firm believer that you can't go wrong with ANY Disney Cruise, our family prefers a Western Caribbean sailing.
On a 7-Night Eastern Caribbean sailing, passengers usually enjoy three days at sea, along with a stop at two EC islands and a day at Disney Cruise Line's private island, Castaway Cay. Our family has taken EC sailings twice and enjoyed them tremendously. We took a catamaran ride and snorkeled in St. Maarten, and it was just lovely.
But, when given a choice, we will usually choose a 7-Night Western Caribbean sailing that has a stop at my favorite port of George Town, Grand Cayman. Our family has participated in the "
Island Tour and Snorkeling with Stingrays" Port Adventure multiple times and we have LOVED it every time! We have also swam with dolphins and visited Mayan ruins in Cozumel. A typical WC sailing will include two days at sea, in addition to stops at three islands plus Castaway Cay.
Depending on what you are looking to do, choosing between the two itineraries can really come down to what Port Adventures interest your family. I think ANY day on a Disney Cruise is better than a day on land, so really you can't go wrong either way. Perhaps take a look at the ideal dates to help narrow it down.
I hope this helps you a little with choosing your cruise. Please come back and visit us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with more cruise questions once you book!
Happy Cruising, Tracy V.
