Hello there Wing Wing, and welcome aboard planDisney!
It almost seems like the whole world is full of anticipation for the upcoming launch of the
Disney Adventure, and despite all of
the exciting releases and glimpses of what future seafarers will find on board, there are many mysteries about the ship’s specifics that have yet to be uncovered. At the current time, the only
Deck Plans available to guests are the ones found on the Disney Cruise Line website and even when you access this during your voyage using the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App, they’ll still be limited to guest areas and not the spaces utilized by the crew for storage or maintenance. I took the opportunity to peek at the layout of the Disney Adventure for myself, and based on my years of experience on board here are a few insights about what may occupy that space:
- It appears as though that same division is consistent across multiple decks, which makes me feel as though this is something structural with the design of the ship. (It's important to remember that since the Disney Adventure was originally a project that began under former shipbuilder MV Werften before it was ultimately purchased by Disney Cruise Line, there is currently nothing else to compare it to across the fleet.)
- If you're a fan of following the progress of each ship before they launch, the Disney Treasure revealed a bit about how prefabricated staterooms and cabins are assembled offsite before being slotted into the ship in parts. Living on board, we sometimes discovered that the spaces between these rooms may be occupied with storage, life saving equipment, or simply empty space within the hull - which seem to typically be the case whenever these areas are not wide enough for anyone to safely pass through.
- If you've been on a Disney Cruise Line vessel before, you might notice as you pass through the corridors find wall panels between staterooms that provide crew members (especially those tasked with ship maintenance) access to be able to resolve any issues within a specific area.
As we're still about a year away from her maiden voyage with guests, I'll be curious to take a closer look at the Disney Adventure when she reaches completion this spring! In the meantime, I highly recommend following along with
the Disney Parks Blog for Disney Cruise Line updates as they come from across the horizon. If you do end up booking one of those staterooms, you're always welcome to ask a crew member about what's in-between, and I'd be very interested in what they might have to share!
Here's to discovering mysterious spaces as you set sail from new places!
