When it is said you can book dining 180 days prior is that calendar days or six months from the arrival date? I am taking my 3 kids 8 ,6 and 2 and arriving October 15th.

You can call to make advance dining reservations for WDW restaurants by calling Disney Dining (407-WDW-DINE) 180 calendar days in advance, NOT six months in advance.

In all my years of making WDW dining reservations, I have never quite gotten the hang of figuring out exactly when 180 days in advance of my trip is. (Do they count the day of the call? Do they count the day of travel?) So, to make sure I get it just right, I always call Disney Dining about six and a half months before my trip, explain what I want to do, and ask them to tell me what my exact call date is. That way I'm sure to get it right.

There are a few independently created "call date calculators" on the web. You can find one if you go to and search on "Walt Disney World Dining Reservations." Another one can be found at (The "ps" in that name stands for "priority seating" which is what they used to call "advanced dining reservations".)

You should also be aware that, if you are staying on WDW property, you can call 180 days in advance of your trip and make dining reservations for your entire trip (up to 10 days worth). If you are not staying on WDW property, you have to make a new call for each day of your trip.
