Welcome to planDisney, Michelle. Thanks for sailing by with this great question.
I love sailing out of
Fort Lauderdale for many reasons, but especially because the airport is so close to the port. While there is
Ground Transportation you can book from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport to Port Everglades (and in return after your cruise), unfortunately there is not a Disney shuttle you can take from Fort Lauderdale to Walt Disney World.
Again, because the airport is so convenient, I recommend booking a quick flight from FLL to MCO after you disembark. As someone who used to live in South Florida, this is a trip we would make a lot. And because Fort Lauderdale is on the coast and Orlando is in the middle of the state, flying will streamline your travel. Of course, you could always
rent a car or ride the train, but it wouldn’t be my first choice. Plus, if you fly into Orlando, you can then book a shuttle to take you straight to your Disney Resort.
There’s nothing better than a
Disney Land & Sea vacation package. I know there are a lot of details to plan, but once you do, it will be smooth sailing! If you have any other questions that come up along the way, I hope you’ll visit us again here at
planDisney.
Embrace the magic,
Sami
