how do i book a cruise with DVC points?

    Ahoy Lynn!

Thanks for sailing by planDisney with a question about using your Disney Vacation Club Membership to book a cruise on Disney Cruise Line. You have come to the right place, my friend, as I love using my Vacation Points for the oh-so-fabulous Disney cruises. I have to say the flexibility of Vacation Points is what makes a Disney Vacation Club Membership so extraordinary. Not only can you stay in the luxurious Disney Vacation Club Resorts, but you can book Adventures by Disney, or travel to other Disney Destinations like Disneyland Paris, or stay all over the world with RCI exchange.

To start the booking process for a cruise on Disney Cruise Line using your Disney Vacation Club Vacation Points, you will want to find the right cruise for you. You can explore the Disney Cruise Line sailings on the Explore Destinations: Disney Cruise Line page. Once you select a destination you are interested in sailing (ex. the Bahamas), you can then look at the Points Charts PDFs associated with those sailings. The Points Charts will show you how many Vacation Points it will be for each sailing date, based upon stateroom category, length of cruise, ship, destination, and season. Since I travel as a family of four, I like to use the lower Vacation Point amount for the additional 3rd or 4th occupant and pay cash for the first two passengers. You can choose to use all Vacation Points or any combination of cash and Vacation Points that works best for you.

To book a Disney Cruise Line cruise using your Vacation Points, you will need to contact Member Services at (800) 800-9800. You can book a Disney Cruise Line Cruise as early as Points Charts have been published for the desired sail date and up to 14 days before the sail date. Please note that there is a $95 transaction fee per confirmed Disney Collection Reservation.

I hope this information gets you sailing towards a Disney Cruise Line cruise using your Disney Vacation Club Membership! Please stop back by planDisney if we can help answer any more of your vacation questions.
