Welcome aboard, Tammy! There's nothing better than vacationing with Disney, but my family and I think that the absolute best way to vacation with Mickey and his crew is to take a
land and sea vacation! We love visiting the parks at Walt Disney World for a few days before setting sail on the high seas with Disney Cruise Line. If you're considering taking your family on a magical adventure like this too, I highly recommend it!
Guests can
book a Disney Cruise Line vacation by putting down a 20% deposit, so the actual dollar amount of the deposit really varies based on the particular itinerary. Then, guests can pay off the rest of the cruise fare however they'd like, as long as it is fully paid by 75 days prior to sailing. My family and I purchase Disney Gift Cards each time we grocery shop, just in small amounts, and later use those to make payments on our cruise. Sometimes I'll pay a large chunk one month and nothing for a few months, then another larger payment. Other times, I'll divide it out and pay a set amount each month. Then, there are the last minute sailings we've taken where we just used our Chase Disney Visa to pay for the whole thing when we booked since it was so close to setting sail. Our
Disney Rewards Visa card from Chase gives us no interest for a certain period when we use it to book Disney trips. It's really up to you how you'd like make payments, Tammy, so choose the way that is best for your family's budget, and you'll be all set.
Please stop back as you continue to plan your cruise, Tammy. We'd love to help with any other questions you might have!
