Hi there, Abby!
What a pleasure it is to welcome a fellow Muppets fan to planDisney! It's no secret to many of my fellow panelists that I'm already mourning the loss of
Muppet*Vision 3D (mostly Sam Eagle's 'A Salute to All Nations but Mostly America) as well as the Miss Piggy Fountain that anchors Grand Avenue, so I'm thrilled that I have the opportunity to assist you in your quest to capture magical Muppets-inspired memories.
I actually completed
runDisney's Springtime Surprise 10-Miler dressed as the iconic fountain just last weekend and was able to get some incredible photos in an empty Grand Avenue, so I can confidently say that I think this would be a
practically perfect spot for a
Capture Your Moment photo session in
Disney's Hollywood Studios.
Because Grand Avenue (formerly known as Muppets Courtyard) isn't specifically listed as one of the locations for Capture Your Moment sessions on the website, I reached out to a friendly Cast Member for assistance. He helpfully shared that you shouldn't have a problem requesting to hold your photo session in Grand Avenue, but it is important to keep in mind that it's not possible to guarantee a specific location for your session at the time of booking due to the possibility of inclement weather or changing park operations. This is especially important to consider with the
impending retheming of Grand Avenue bringing staggered closures in the area May 10 through June 7. I would suggest booking your session as soon as possible as we're not sure exactly what access to the area will look like once closures begin.
If you're unable to secure a Capture Your Moment Photo Session, I happened upon a
Disney PhotoPass photographer roaming Grand Avenue during my recent visit and decided to take some impromptu photos in front of the fountain. When scrolling through my photos in the My Disney Experience app later that day, I was absolutely delighted to discover a Magic Shot in which Kermit was sitting right beside me. I encourage you to keep your eyes peeled for photographers in the area during your visit because I think this is a photo op you'll love as much as I do!
I hope this information is helpful, Abby, and that you're able to say 'see ya real soon' to the Muppets before they head across the theme park to make room for
Monstropolis. Dare I encourage you to try some rat pizza — I mean the
city's top-rated pizza —before it's too late?
See you on Sunset Boulevard,
Lizzie
