Ahoy there, Roberta! Thanks for cruising by planDisney. I’m so happy to help!
I “sea” you’re already dreaming of your time on one of Disney Cruise Line’s private islands, and I don’t blame you! A cabana on
Castaway Cay or
Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is one of the most coveted experiences on a Disney Cruise. These retreats offer shaded lounge space, beach chairs, a hammock, snacks, drinks, towels, sunscreen, and even snorkel gear, floats, and bikes for a one-hour rental. But the best part? The peaceful, uncrowded beach setting makes it feel like your own little slice of paradise!
Now, I won’t sugarcoat it. Cabana reservations are very limited and go fast. Booking priority is based on your
Castaway Club level, with Pearl Level Guests getting the earliest access. However, the
best way to increase your chances of securing a cabana? Sail Concierge! Guests staying in a Concierge-level stateroom get first dibs, making it the most reliable way to lock in this VIP experience.
If you’re not sailing Concierge, you’ll want to be ready the moment your booking window opens. I always recommend setting an alarm for 11:50 PM (Eastern Time) the night before, logging into your Disney Cruise Line account, and navigating to “My Cruise Activities” so you’re all set when booking opens at midnight. If you don’t see any availability, don’t give up! Keep checking, as cancellations do happen, and once on board, you can visit Guest Services to be added to the waitlist.
Even if a cabana isn’t in the cards this time, I promise you’ll still have an unforgettable day in paradise. I recommend being one of the first Guests off the ship to snag a great spot with chairs and umbrellas. Plus, there’s so much to do—snorkeling in the lagoon, biking the trails, floating in the calm blue water… you really can’t go wrong!
I hope this helps, Roberta! Wishing you a magical and relaxing cruise. May your days be filled with sunshine, sea breezes, and maybe even a little pixie dust. Bon voyage!
