Can I book an ADR for just our two 16 yr old boys? MDE will not let me choose one of the boys as Guest #1. They are greyed out. Only my husband or myself can be Guest #1. Is there an age restriction on ADRs?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Tina!

Although to enter the Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks (unaccompanied by an adult) Guests must be at least 14 years old (or accompanied by someone who is at least 14), Guests need to be at least 18 in order to make a dining reservation. This is primarily because a credit card is required for booking dining reservations, and the minimum age for a credit card holder is 18. Even for dining reservations that do not require prepayment, a credit card is required to guarantee the reservation (although it will only be charged in the event that the reservation is not cancelled within the dining location’s allotted cancellation period).

Even though they can’t make advance dining reservations, your sons may still visit any of the Quick Service restaurants at Walt Disney World Resort, but they will also be restricted when it comes to using Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering (since that also requires the use of a credit card).

I wish I had better news for you, Tina! Please let us know if there are any additional questions we can answer for you, though. We're always happy to help.
