Hiya Brenna,
Welcome to planDisney! Last year, I visited both
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground and
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. It was beautiful, and I couldn’t believe I was still at Walt Disney World Resort. It felt like I was in the middle of a woodland oasis!
One thing about both resorts that I wasn’t prepared for was the size. I had no idea getting from my yummy dinner at
Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White over to the campgrounds was not an easy feat (especially without the assistance of
Walt Disney World Water Transportation). Lucky for you, Brenna, you no longer have to worry about that. According to a Cast Member I spoke to, the water taxi between Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground is operating! The water taxis are currently limited to running in the late afternoons-evening, but you can verify the specific operating times with Cast Members when you arrive at either resort.
I hope this was helpful, Brenna. One thing to remember is that even though there are plans for the water taxi to be running during Halloween, this is subject to change. Water taxis may not be operating depending on the weather, so be sure to have a plan b in your back pocket. I highly recommend the
Minnie Van Service for transportation between resorts. It is such a relaxing and fun way to travel. Plus they tend to be the quickest way to and from in my experience. Please come back and see us if you need anything else.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
