Ahoy, Laverne!
Embarkation Day is always so exciting because it's finally time for the magic to begin aboard your Disney Cruise. And the great news is that you can do as much or as little as you like because it's YOUR vacation. To get a good idea of what is scheduled, I suggest browsing the
cruise newsletter that you'll receive when you check-in at the cruise terminal. It will be a great resource for your first day and will also include cruise highlights for the entire sailing.
As soon as my family boards, we always enjoy lunch at
Cabanas, some pool time until our stateroom is ready (around 1:30 p.m.) and then set out to explore the ship. If you have never cruised before, I recommend the Walking Ship Tour where the knowledgeable cruise staff will guide you along the way. You may also want to visit the
youth spaces-the Oceaneer Club, Oceaneer Lab, Edge and Vibe. They are open to all who want to check them out even if you don't have kids! Senses Spa and Fitness Center also offers an Open House, and there is often a Spa Raffle. The only thing that is a "must do" on the first afternoon is the Mandatory Lifeboat Drill, which is typically around 4:00 p.m.
After the drill, there is a high-energy
sail-away party with your favorite Disney Pals and cruise staff. Whatever you choose to do, I'm sure it will be wonderful, Laverne. The options are endless on a cruise vacation.
Thank you for stopping by to "sea" us, and please let us know if we can assist you further with your plans.
