Hi Christine, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
Walt Disney World does an excellent job welcoming
Guests with unique needs and tries to create
Magical experiences for all of its Guests, including those with service animals.
A
service animal is defined as “a dog or miniature horse that is trained to do work or perform tasks for, and to assist, an individual with a disability.” Service animals are welcome in almost all areas throughout the Parks and Resorts. They must remain on leash and under the control of their owner at all times.
Currently, emotional support animals (including cats) are not covered under the service animal umbrella and therefore are not permitted in the Parks or most of the Resort properties, including
Disney’s BoardWalk Villas. But, there are
four dog-friendly Resorts if you have a
special canine family member. I know how important a pet is, and especially one that assists you, so another option might be
Best Friends Pet Care, which is a Walt Disney World Resort Pet Boarding facility. I’ve visited the Center, and it looks like
nirvana for pets! They offer excellent accommodations as well as treats and activities.
Christine, if you have any more questions, please don’t hesitate to come back. I wish you a Magical vacation.
