Have you been to the Boardwalk recently? What is open? Are there any entertainers? I have never seen it and wonder if it is worth the side trip given all the COVID closures. Thanks.

    Hi Alexandra!

Nothing makes us planDisney Panelists happier than seeing a Guest return to us with more questions! Welcome back! Disney's BoardWalk is one of my favorite areas at Walt Disney World. My family are Disney Vacation Club Members and Disney's BoardWalk Villas is one of our Home Resorts so we stay here frequently. We're planning a stay at the resort this summer so I've been keeping an eye on what has been reopening.

If you were planning to stay at the resort, I would still say it is worth it for the atmosphere, gorgeous rooms, the pool area, and location, location, location! The ability to walk to both Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios makes Disney's BoardWalk Inn & Villas the ideal location for fans of those parks. The value of a side visit probably depends on your family and what type of experience you were looking for.

If you are considering a trip over to Disney's BoardWalk in the evening from another resort, I might consider holding off until more things return. Currently, the buskers who traditionally perform acts such as magic and juggling on Disney's BoardWalk have not yet returned. This is one of the things that I have always felt brings excitement to Disney's BoardWalk, and provides entertainment to those enjoying the area in the evening. Additionally, the ice cream shop has closed, and locations such as Jellyrolls and the Atlantic Dance Hall have not yet reopened.

If you were looking for a more low-key break from the hustle and bustle of the parks, particularly in the afternoon, you may still enjoy a visit to Disney's BoardWalk. Take a Friendship Boat from Disney's Hollywood Studios, or walk over from Epcot. Bring your family and enjoy a leisurely walk around Crescent Lake. Reward yourself for your workout by grabbing a slice of pizza from the Pizza Window and a beverage from BoardWalk Joe's Marvelous Margaritas, and maybe do a little shopping!

While not everything has reopened at Disney's BoardWalk, I am hopeful to see more locations return when Disney's BoardWalk Inn reopens in July. Stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog and the Walt Disney World Website for reopening announcements! I also find the Disney Resorts Reopening Page very helpful. If you select the resort you want to know more about it will open a secondary box and tell you exactly what is open at that resort. You can continue to check back before your trip to see if anything has changed. I hope this helps with your planning, Alexandra!

    Have a Magical Day!
