To get to the boardwalk from hollywood studios can we do it without entering the park? also i keep reading abt the boat ride to the boardwalk, is it free? and Im staying at the doubletree so would this be the best way?

    Hi Roshni,

Yes you can definitely get to the Boardwalk resort from the Hollywood Studios, and you do not need to enter the park to do so. There is a Disney boat that runs from the dock that is located off to the right before you approach the security tables. The dock is quite visible and is covered with a canopy. The boat is provided, free of charge, to Disney guests and runs about every twenty minutes. The boat stops at the Dolphin/Swan resort and the Yacht/Beach Club resort, before heading over to the Boardwalk.

If you are up for a little exercise, you can also find a walkway that runs along the lake and will take you from the Hollywood Studios park to the Boardwalk resort. The walkway begins just to the rear of where the Disney bus stops are located.

If you are headed to Hollywood Studios on a resort shuttle, this would be the best option to travel to the Boardwalk area. If you have a car, you could drive to the resort, or take a cab. Disney buses also run from the Downtown Disney area to the Boardwalk resort and is an option especially later in the evening after the parks have closed.

Be sure to stick around the Boardwalk long enough to enjoy some of the free nightly entertainment, Magicians, jugglers and comedians perform nightly (weather permitting) from approximately 6-10pm. Look for Brian in his purple polyester suit. He is awesome!
