Welcome to planDisney! And all the way from Japan, too. I can SEA how that might pose some challenge to you being able to complete a Disney cruise as previously planned.
As you are aware, the onboard booking (aka
placeholder) that you made on your prior Disney cruise gives you up to 24 months from the date the placeholder was booked to set sail. So sorry that you will be unable to use that placeholder as you intended. However, good news: if you don’t do anything and the placeholder expires, then you would get a refund to whatever method of payment used to secure this onboard booking. Alternatively, you could
contact Disney Cruise Line to request a refund, but that may be a bit tricky calling from your current location. Let me assure you that if unused, the placeholder does get refunded.
If you didn’t know already, existing placeholders set to expire can be extended out to September 2022 IF they are moved to a new reservation. That may not be a viable solution for you, but I wanted to make sure you knew about this and took advantage of it if that might make cruising possible for you. What can I say, I’m a Disney Cruise Line enabler!
Venture back to
planDisney if we can assist you again. I hope that someday you will be able to set sail with Captain Mickey again!
