Hi Jackie!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so glad you sailed by with your question about booking a placeholder while onboard! I never leave the “Mickey Boat” without booking my next Disney Cruise Line vacation OR a placeholder. Then, instead of saying “goodbye”, I get to say “See Ya Real Soon”!
While on a Disney Cruise Line vacation, Guests often find they are having SO MUCH FUN and they cannot wait to
book their next adventure at sea with Captain Mickey, so they take full advantage of the onboard future cruise booking specials. If you are not quite sure which itinerary or date you want to travel on, Guests are given the option to book a “placeholder”. While pricing is subject to change without notice, currently the fee for booking a placeholder is $250 and this allows you all the benefits offered without committing to a travel date. Then, once you get home and check your calendar you can contact Disney Cruise Line or your travel agent to secure your reservation. The one thing to keep in mind is that you MUST set sail within 24 months of booking the placeholder. When you select a date, your placeholder fee is applied to that reservation and you will be responsible for paying the remaining deposit amount at that time. If you do have a specific sail date in mind, then I do recommend booking that exact date (and not a placeholder) as you will get the best rate the further out you book! With schedules out through Summer 2020, there are so many
itineraries to choose from!
Wishing you a magical and memorable adventure at sea!
Happy Sailing!
Stephanie
