Hello Aimee,
Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney. As a fellow Amy from just across the pond, I'm happy to help a namesake enjoy a bit of magic at Walt Disney World Resort. But before we get into the details, know that we appreciate your (or your family member's) work in making our world a better, safer place.
In researching
Blue Light Card discounts, I learned that you can
book online and then email your 8-digit booking reference along with your Blue Light Card code to disneytraveluk@disneyonline.com to have the eligible discount applied. The word "booking" and the reference to an "updated invoice" led me to believe this process might only apply to Room and Ticket Vacation Packages rather than ticket-only purchases. I wanted to dig a little deeper so I reached out to a Cast Member for further clarification.
After a quick online chat, I learned that your discount should be valid on a ticket-only purchase. However, tickets must be purchased directly through the Walt Disney Travel Company and not through a third-party retailer. My panel pal Louise
echoed this in an answer for another guest earlier this year while also highlighting the many benefits of
Magic Tickets. They offer so much value on their own, but any added discount will truly be the cherry on top of your travel plans.
If you’re like me and prefer to triple-check everything before making a big purchase, you’ll be glad to know you can also
reach out to Disney Experts by phone. They’re available seven days a week and can answer your specific questions, confirm current discounts and guide you through the booking process.
I hope this helps get you on your way to a magical visit, Aimee! If we can offer any further assistance please don't hesitate to come back and let us know.
Magic and memories,
Amy
