Hi Carol! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney.
Blue Bayou Restaurant in New Orleans Square at Disneyland Park is an incredibly popular dining spot, thanks to its immersive theming. People also love the Cajun-Creole menu. Who doesn't want to dine in perpetual twilight while boats drift by? For this reason, it can be difficult to nab your dining reservation. Typically, the booking window opens 60 days before your park day. I suggest making a reminder on your mobile device, so you can be among the first to try to secure your magical dining reservation. Availability is not guaranteed.
We've been lucky enough to dine there a few times, and we've always enjoyed ourselves. I do want to point out, however, that Blue Bayou Restaurant currently has a modified dining experience with obstructed views and potential construction noise.
Pirates of the Caribbean, which houses the dining location, is currently closed for refurbishment. You can keep an eye on the
Daily Events Schedule, which lists Attractions with planned refurbishment dates, to see if your dates fall during this time. Details are subject to change.
If you are having trouble booking a dining reservation for one at a dining location at Disneyland Resort, try booking a dining reservation for two. When you check in with a Cast Member, let them know it will just be you, instead of two. Also, if you aren't able to secure your dream spot, please be aware that Blue Bayou Restaurant is one of the dining locations in the parks that offers a
Walk-Up List. You can join the Walk-Up List on your mobile device, using the handy Disneyland mobile app.
If you do manage to get a spot at Blue Bayou Restaurant, I suggest either the Gumbo or the Ribeye Steak with Western-style Butter. We also like to order the bread service, but you can't go wrong with any of the menu selections. Menu items are subject to change.
Happy dining!
Elizabeth
