Ahoy there, Keith! Welcome to planDisney!
Your trip to the Disneyland Resort is just around the riverbend, and I bet you're brimming with excitement for all the magic that awaits you and your crew! How awesome that you're planning to dine at
Blue Bayou Restaurant! I had the pleasure of enjoying a meal there just last month with two of my fellow panelists,
Kriss and
JoAnna, and it was simply enchanting.
You'll be happy to know that you absolutely can make a reservation for a party of 7 at Blue Bayou! Only the person making the reservation needs the
Disneyland mobile app and a MyDisney account. So, you're all set! However, I always recommend that everyone in your party download the app. It's like a treasure map packed with super helpful features that will make your visit smoother than Captain Jack Sparrow's sailing skills!
To try and snag that coveted Blue Bayou reservation, simply visit the
reservations page on the Disneyland website or tap the plus (+) sign at the bottom of the app, and then select "Check Dining Availability".
Now, since Blue Bayou is so incredibly popular (probably thanks to its one-of-a-kind ambiance inside the
Pirates of the Caribbean attraction!), reservations tend to vanish faster than pixie dust. They typically open up 60 days in advance, so it's possible many spots are already booked. But don't you fret, my friend! Things change all the time, and I highly encourage you to keep checking for availability as your trip gets closer. You might just shiver your timbers when a spot opens up! Another trick up your sleeve is to try the
Mobile Dine Walk-Up Availability feature on the day of your visit through the app.
Speaking of deliciousness, if you're looking for a refreshing bite, I highly recommend the Heirloom Tomato & Watermelon Salad. It's absolutely divine, especially on a hot midsummer's day, and it pairs perfectly with the mint julep, a Blue Bayou specialty that's as cool as a New Orleans night.
And, Keith, since you'll be traveling in a party of 7, I want to leave you with one extra little pro-tip for navigating the parks. Just a couple of weeks ago, I visited with a large group of family members, and we found that while it's so much fun to stick together, sometimes splitting into smaller groups for a short period can help you experience even more magic! This worked wonderfully for us, as some preferred to ride thrilling attractions like
Space Mountain, while others enjoyed a more relaxed show or explored the charming shops along
Main Street, U.S.A. It ensures everyone in your crew gets to enjoy the enchantment!
So, there you have it, Keith! I hope these tips help you and your whole crew have an absolutely swashbuckling time at the Disneyland Resort! If any other questions surface as you finalize your plans, please don't hesitate to drop anchor back at planDisney. We're always here to help you chart a course for a truly magical adventure!
