Greetings, Lori, glad you found us at planDisney.
The
Blue Bayou is one of my favorite dining experiences at the
Disneyland Resort. The ambiance is perfect and the
food is delicious. I am excited to hear that you're considering a visit!
The Blue Bayou is open in May, but it is important to note that
dining reservations open no sooner than 60 days before your arrival, and they tend to go faster than Jack Sparrow chasing a bottle of rum! If you're searching today, as I can see right now, there aren't open reservations for May 22. However, you can keep checking back online to see if anyone cancels! The great thing is that Blue Bayou is a participating restaurant for
Mobile Dine Walk-Up lists, so you can check once you're on the property to see if you can be added is another way to get last-minute reservations!
If you're unable to secure dining at the Blue Bayou, there are some other restaurants in
New Orleans Square that you can visit!
Tiana's Palace is the newest quick service experience, her
7 Greens Gumbo with Chicken & Andouille Sausage and house-made pickles are delicious. You can also try
Cafe Orleans, a table service, which has some similar menu items as the Blue Bayou.
Many experiences are also happening in May, including
Star Wars Season of the Force (now through June 2) and
Pixar Fest (April 26 - August 4) celebrations! I was recently at the resort and was excited to see the Pixar Fest decorations going up and I'm thrilled to try all the limited-time treats and beverages, too! And, on select nights you can catch
Fire of the Rising Moons, a special nighttime fireworks spectacular over
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge!
Lori, I hope this helps. Sending you loads of pixie dust as you begin the adventure of securing dining reservations. If you have any other questions before your visit,
please reach out again. We're here to help!
May the Force Be With You,
Camille
