Hi, Lisa!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I adore Walt Disney World Resorts' water parks.
I've taken my kids to both water parks and we love each one for different reasons. The theme of
Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park is a lot of fun and wintery. There's a holiday tone throughout the park all year. My daughter and I are super risk takers and braved
Summit Plummet. (That's a 12 story drop down a slide! Ahh!) The scariest experience at
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park is snorkeling over
Shark Reef. (And how cool is that?)
The younger kid area of Blizzard Beach is really nice, but Typhoon Lagoon's
Ketchakiddee Creek has a bunch of activities for kids who are less than 48 inches tall. I'm guessing your daughter is probably close to that height!
Of the two big pool areas, the Typhoon Lagoon's Surf Pool wins my pick. It's huge and moves from huge waves to little ones, and you can even learn how to surf! There are also many other non-scary experiences your family can enjoy.
As of January, Typhoon Lagoon is currently closed for refurbishment. Be sure to check with Disney World Cast Members to find out if it is open during your visit to the resort. I think Blizzard Beach is still worth the visit. But some of the rides may seem a little more intense.
I hope you have splashing good time during your visit! Please let me know if I can help you with any other questions you have before your next visit!
