We were blessed with a trip and only had a month to plan. All the character dining reservations are full. Is there a possibility of walking in? Do I try to call when we are down there to see if there was a cancellation? If so how do I find the phone #?

    Hi Beth,

You can certainly try to get reservations when other guests cancel. You can do this by calling 407-WDW-DINE, or if you have a smartphone, you can try online. There is now free WiFi in all the Disney parks.

You can also to try to walk up and get reservations. Whether you'll have luck doing this depends on when you're traveling, where you want to eat, and what time you want to dine. In general, restaurants in the hotels are less crowded than the restaurants in the parks (except for character meals). Also you'll have better luck either very early or very late in the seating cycle. Personally, I've had about 50% luck overall getting walk up seating at Walt Disney World table service restaurants, but what you'll experience may be substantially different depending on whether or not you're visiting during peak season.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
