Howdy, James, and welcome to planDisney!
Fort Wilderness is one of my favorite places at Disney World. It’s such a relaxing oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks, but just a short
boat ride away from Magic Kingdom! Now, let’s chat about what bicycles you can bring with you.
At Fort Wilderness, electric and electric-assisted bicycles are not allowed. You can bring a manually powered bicycle or
rent one at the Bike Barn when you’re there. Or, my family’s favorite way to get around the campground is by
golf cart, which you can also rent at Fort Wilderness (I recommend calling to make a reservation in advance since they can book up). We love adding battery-powered lights and window clings to our golf cart and driving around to see the creative decorations that other guests put up at their campsites. Since you’re coming during the Easter season, you’re sure to see lots of cute bunnies and colorful eggs!
And for another fun adventure on wheels, you might like the
Wilderness Back Trail Adventure, where you explore Fort Wilderness aboard a Segway. It’s a unique way to see the campground, and no prior Segway experience is needed!
When you’re at Fort Wilderness, you won’t want to miss
Chip ’n’ Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long for a night of roasting s’mores, live music, and dancing with those mischievous chipmunks. And they typically show a Disney movie afterward if you’re not quite ready for bed!
One last thing I wanted to mention before I go. Don’t forget that you can
mobile order from
Trail’s End Restaurant over in the Settlement area. When we’re staying at Fort Wilderness, my family loves to pick up food to enjoy on the deck outside of our cabin. Hearing the quiet breeze through the trees and the birds flying by, it can be hard to believe that you’re still at Disney World!
I’m wishing you a magical stay at Fort Wilderness next week! And if you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to visit us again at planDisney.
