Me and my bf are going to Disney world and wanna use the monorails to get to the parks but aren’t staying at a Disney hotel could we Uber to a Disney resort and get on the monorail there?

    Jenny,

Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!

Riding the monorail is a rite of passage for anyone visiting Walt Disney World, regardless of where they are staying!

Technically you need a dining or hotel reservation to go to a Disney resort. The security guard will ask the driver about the reason for the visit, who is going, etc. While I am sure many of us have been able to get in, despite not having one of these reservations, it could be a problem.

But no worries, I have a quick and easy solution! Have your Uber or Lyft driver take you to the Transportation and Ticket Center. There is a special ride-share drop-off area, and you will be on the monorail in minutes! From there you can soar by Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and Disney's Contemporary Resort, in that order, on your way to the Magic Kingdom!

    BONUS TIP
Want to get a taste of being in the park, even before going to the Magic Kingdom? Did you know that Disney's Polynesian Village Resort has the Pineapple Lanai stand, where you can get several variations of this popular Dole treat, including adult beverage versions?

Please feel free to write me back directly if you have any follow-up questions.

    Have a Magical Vacation!
