    Which is better for a 5 year old, Typhoon lagoon or Blizzard Beach?

    Hi JoAnn,

    My family loves both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach! We really enjoy a day at these parks to cool off in the water and enjoy some time out of the main parks.

    Typhoon Lagoon is good for snorkeling with the fish, riding on some aqua coasters and jumping the waves in a really cool wave pool. The wave pool, Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool, is the most realistic wave pool I have ever been in. You can actually take surf lessons in the mornings.

    I think for five year olds Blizzard Beach is a better water park. The wave pool, Meltaway Bay, is still fun but not as strong as Typhoon Lagoon's. Also, there are more family rides at this water park so everyone can go on the rides together.

    However, the coolest thing about Blizzard Beach that is perfect for a five year old is Ski Patrol Training Camp. Here children can walk on icebergs or "fly" through the air. It is semi-enclosed so it allows them a little freedom without you worrying.
