Bright Suns Carol,
I am so glad your journeys from galaxies far, far away have led you back to planDisney. It looks like you have your transport headed towards
Batuu during your next Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Great choice, as all Jedi and friends of the Resistance are always welcome!
It looks like you plan on dropping a little "cred" during your journeys and want to know which add-on experience is the best choice. The good news is both Savi's Workshop and Droid Depot are fantastic. I do not think you will be disappointed with either choice, however there are a few things you can consider when selecting. Travelers entering
Savi's Workshop are entering a unique role-play experience. You will have a chance to enter the fun as you use the Force to join the Jedi cause. You will definitely not want to rush through the process and should plan on spending at least an hour, building your lightsaber as well as conjuring your inner powers to unleash the Jedi within. If you choose to head over to the
Droid Depot instead, you will find the environment a little tamer. While Guests are still offered a hands-on build your own Droid experience, the role-play atmosphere is not as in-depth and the building process is simpler. It is a great time and a really cool environment, just a little less of the "Force" is needed.
While both add-on experiences offer a number of alternative accessories that can be purchased for an additional cost, the lightsaber option will cost more to start than the droid. If you are looking to stay within a certain budget amount, keep in mind Savi's Workshop is currently priced at $249.99 plus tax, while Droid Depot starts a little less than half that cost at $119.99 plus tax. As a reminder, these costs are always subject to change, but you can typically expect to pay about twice as much for the experience at Savi's Workshop. One other thing to keep in mind is what you or your children will get the most enjoyment out of after the experience is over. If the Force is strong in your hut and you really need that lightsaber to add to your collection, I would definitely select Savi's Workshop. However, if your Jedi robe is packed away and fighting the Empire is not your strong point, you may enjoy hanging out with your new Droid pal more when you are back on your home planet and I would select Droid Depot.
As a reminder, these experiences are extremely popular so
advanced reservations are always recommended as there is no guarantee on the availability of walk-in spots. If we can assist with any additional planning questions, please stop back and
see us.
'Til the Spires,
Margaret
