What is a better deal, purchasing an annual pass and using the hotel discount code (we travel when they have great discounts available) or staying at a WDW resort and getting the your way passes and dining plan.

    Hi Tami,

I think you ask a very good question and really only you can answer it.  But let me see if I can help you compare mouse ears to mouse ears.

With the annual pass, I recommend you need to stay at least 11 days in the park to see the benefit.  With you being from OR is that reasonable to be in FL for at least 11 days?  I live in NY and work for an airline, so for my family it is possible to hit the 11 day mark.  If you can hit the 11 day mark, are you going to do it in one or two trips?  If two trips, I think the annual pass might be better because I think ticket is the hardest item to get a deal on.  You can always eat all counter service meals or stay at a Value Resort. Also, the annual pass entitles you to purchase the Disney Dining Experience which would reduce your meal budget by 20%.

If you are not going to hit the 11 day mark and you are going to do one trip, looking for a time when free dining on the Magic Your Way ticket is not a bad option however there is no guarantee it will be offered or if it is will the dates work for you.  However, knowing your dining is covered could allow you to upgrade or stay longer.

    I hope this helps!
