Hi ya, Betsy, and welcome to planDisney!
I’m so glad you stopped by with your question about planning a
Walt Disney World Resort vacation. One of my favorite things about Walt Disney World is that there is always something new to experience. Of course, this means that there are new things to learn about when you are planning your vacation!
Betsy, whether you use the services of an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner or
plan it yourself is a matter of personal preference. I’ve utilized the services of an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner and planned many Disney vacations myself and know there are benefits to both.
I will say that an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner can save you time by booking your
Disney Resorts Collection Hotel and theme park tickets as well as some
Enchanted Extras Collection options for you. They can also make dining and park reservations for you and much more if you allow them access to your
My Disney Experience. Disney Vacation Planners can also keep an eye out for special offers that might be applicable to your reservation, though that is not guaranteed. All of this is at no extra cost to you. Betsy, please note that Disney Vacation Planners have the same access to hotel and dining reservations that you or a member of the Disney Resort Hotels Reservation team have. Also, be mindful that there are aspects of your vacation that only your Disney Vacation Planner will be able to modify if needed.
Now, Betsy, it is possible for you to do everything that an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner can do, so if you enjoy the thrill of planning your own vacation, go for it! The Walt Disney World website provides
lots of information and guides you through the planning process via My Disney Experience. If you prefer to
speak to someone on the phone, you can rely on the Disney Resort Hotels Reservation team to guide you in selecting the perfect resort hotel for you and your family. Plus, you have found one of the best planning tools right here at planDisney! You will need to remember important dates, like your
60-day booking window for advanced dining reservations and many Enchanting Extras, but if having complete control over your vacation plans is a priority for you, you might consider planning yourself. Some Guests prefer feeling more spontaneous during their vacations by making their own plans on the go.
Speaking of new things to experience at Walt Disney World, head over to the
Disney Parks Blog to learn more about incredible new experiences like
TRON Lightcycle / Run in Magic Kingdom or
Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana in Epcot. You will want to check these out no matter what you decide about your vacation planning!
I hope this information is helpful to you, Betsy. If you have any other questions while you are thinking over your decision, I hope you will
stop by again and allow me to assist you.
Wishing you many magical memories,
Shannon
