Hi Sherri,
Wow 12 days is a lovely vacation! I have been there for 10 days and the key is moderation.
We managed the long trip with down time. We would go to a water park about every three days. This would allow us to sleep in a little longer and relax in the cool water. When we were spending the day at the water park, we would plan a nicer dinner at night. This allowed us to shower and change before dinner. This way we did not feel hot and sweaty during dinner or need to pack a special shirt or outfit for dinner.
If you purchase a Magic Your Way ticket with the
Water Park Fun and More Option, you will receive one option for every regular day you purchase - seven day base = seven options. The options include both water parks, DisneyQuest and golf at the Disney Oak Trail Golf course which is a fun family 9 hole golf course. We also spent a day at the pool to relax and do our laundry.
I would tour EPCOT for at least two days, Magic Kingdom two days, Disney Hollywood Studios day or two and Animal Kingdom is a day. The age of your children will adjust the speed of your touring. Younger will mean longer times. Teen might move faster through the parks and may not want to ride some of the attractions for younger guests.
For Hoop Dee Doo Revue, you can easily get there from the Magic Kingdom. We either tour Magic Kingdom or water park before. Another option if you are dining during the second show is to visit after touring Animal Kingdom which closes early.
Finally, balance long touring days - EPCOT- against shorter days Disney's Hollywood Studios. EPCOT is two parks in one with a lot of walking. Disney's Hollywood Studios is smaller with shows which you sit for long periods of time.
Have a magical vacation!
