Beth:(from NY too) DVC?-iIf I buy 25 add on non home-not much benfit for booking I assume. Better to wait-add more at BLT (HOME) or save & get larger amt at Non home! Does that make sense? IF only handful can't book much at other lacation!

    Hi Denise,

You are right about adding the points to your membership. Adding 25 points to a different resort really does not open opportunities up to you. The advantage of having a home resort is to be able to book it 11 months in advance. The 25 points added on would be equivalent to a night at most resorts which you could book at 11 months out. Then you would need to add points for the rest of your trip at the seven month window.

I did learn though if you want to build up to another resort, buying in smaller increments is a good way to do this. You could gradually build to have enough points to book a trip as your home resort at a second location.

I do own two vacation club properties, Boardwalk and Saratoga Springs. I use Boardwalk as my home and then use Saratoga as my extra to cover longer trips or go on a cruise. However, if I could have gotten more points at Boardwalk, I would have been just as happy with that option as well.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
