HI Beth- we 2are from NY going to WDW-1st timers. Have a 2/6yr old- havn a hard time plannin a great trip. too many hotels to chose from..dont kno what parks to visit on which days..would the hotel provide transp. 2and from downtown disney. any tips? thanx

    Hi Fatima,

You are feeling the same way I did when I first started visiting the Walt Disney World Resorts with my family. I hope I can ease some of the anxiety!

First, lets decide on a budget. This will help figure out where to stay. Then, pick a time of the year. Not everyone wants to take a six year old out of school so this will help frame some answers. Next, how long do you want to go for?

With all these questions, here are some choices. I recommend when touring with a stroller to stay at a resort which has boat or monorail transportation if possible. This allows you to push sleeping children onto transportation without folding a stroller everyday. If you have to lose a day to stay on budget, it will be worth it. Also, you can save by just buying a Magic Your Way Base ticket without the options so you concentrate on one park a day. Touring with little ones it is easier to stay at one park instead of bouncing between two.

Next, if you are going to all four parks, do not go to Magic Kingdom first because it is so different from the other parks. Visit EPCOT on fresh legs and then go to the Magic Kingdom. There are lots of things for your children to do there. Then balance your schedule with long touring days (EPCOT) with shorter (Disney's Hollywood Studios) to keep rested. Also, add a break day if staying more than four days.

All the Disney Resorts will travel to Downtown Disney via a boat or a bus.

Send me follow up questions to help continue to tailor your trip!
