Is 2025 the best year to visit the parks or should we wait till the construction is complete? And when will all of it be completed? Thanks.

Hiya, Emily! Welcome back to planDisney!

I love your question because it prompted me to grab “Dream It! Do It!” by Disney Legend Marty Sklar off my bookshelf. There’s a quote in there that’s particularly relevant (page 94 for those reading along at home).

“The way I see it, Disneyland will never be finished. It’s something we can keep developing and adding to…I’ve always wanted to work on something alive, something that keeps growing.”

This line was included in an article that Sklar wrote in the 1960s for Walt Disney himself, but the sentiment still holds for Walt Disney World in 2025. There will always be projects and construction and “Excuse Our Pixie Dust” signs at Walt Disney World because the parks are always changing and improving. With all the new offerings coming to Walt Disney World, 2025 is going to be an amazing year to visit the parks, as will 2026 and beyond!

    What’s in store for 2025? Here’s a quick overview!

Hollywood Studios will soon feature two new shows—Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After and The Little Mermaid: A Musical Adventure—and a newly reimagined Test Track is expected to open at EPCOT. Summer 2025 will see the triumphant return of a nighttime parade to the Magic Kingdom, Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away, and later in the year you’ll have the opportunity to raise a glass of grog at a new Pirates of the Caribbean-themed tavern. Also later in the year, Zootopia: Better Zoogether, a new 4D show, will debut at the Tree of Life Theater at Animal Kingdom.

Those are just some of the new things coming to the parks in 2025. Don’t forget all the festivals and seasonal celebrations as well! If you’re worried about a favorite attraction being open, you can always check the Hours & Events Calendar for a list of attractions closed for refurbishment. Also, don't forget to check the Disney Parks Blog for updates on these new offerings, as well as all the awesome experiences expected to debut in the coming years.

Emily, I hope this helps with your vacation decision-making. Whether you choose to visit in 2025, 2026, 2027, or 2028, you can always come right back to planDisney if any other questions pop into your head!

Have a great, big, beautiful tomorrow!
