Hi! What are the best ways to dine with the characters? Kids are 7 and 8 and we want a way to see the most characters up close.

Hi Irene! Thanks for stopping by planDisney!

I've been returning to the Walt Disney World Resort for many years after visiting for the first time when I was just 3 years old, and I can't imagine my childhood any other way!  I have the most magical memories of time spent in the Parks, riding my favorite attractions like Peter Pan's Flight and Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress. Now, I get to bring my own children and introduce them to my former favorites, as well as treat them to some of Disney's newest attractions like Remy's Ratatouille Adventure and Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway!

Besides spending time riding our favorite rides and catching our favorite shows, I also vividly remember some of the character dining experiences that I was treated to as a young child!  One of my favorite memories, (caught on a giant VHS camcorder) was of Pluto "licking" my face like a dog would give its owner a giant kiss and me wiping it off complaining of "doggy slobber!"  I may not remember which restaurant I was in, but the experience has never left me and we still laugh about it today.

Your little ones are in for such a treat when they get to experience dining with some of their favorite characters!  Depending on their favorites, you may choose to dine with Chef Mickey and pals at his namesake restaurant, Chef Mickey's.  Here, you'll enjoy a fabulous, all-you-care-to-eat meal with the "Fab Five" making their way around the room! This is probably my children's favorite meal because the food is kid-friendly and they know they're going to see exactly who they'd expect to see at the Walt Disney World Resort.

While I've never been to Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White, I've heard nothing but impressive reviews about its recent reopening.  I think my children, and probably yours just by knowing their ages, would love the atmosphere of this dining experience and the appearance by Snow White, a couple of dwarfs and The Queen herself!  Interacting with villains is always a little nerve-wracking, making this an unforgettable experience that I'm "dying" to try!

If you plan on spending time in EPCOT, The Garden Grill Restaurant is always a good choice!  With friends like Chip, Dale, and Farmer Mickey running around this rotating restaurant, you know your kids have never dined like this before! They can even see the inside of the Living with the Land attraction as your table slowly makes its way back to its starting point.

I'm sure your little ones would love helping to choose where and what they would like to eat, so include them as master planners and maybe they'll join us at planDisney someday!

Meet the Panelist: Ashley, Massachusetts

Hi All, I'm Ashley! From the very beginning Walt Disney World Resort has always been a part of my life. As a child I excitedly helped to plan family trips, as a young adult I planned our "happily ever after" right on Disney property, and now I'm lucky enough to plan magical vacations for my three incredible children. When we're not taking in the enchanting experiences of the parks, we're home in Massachusetts, probably planning our next trip! Learn More About Ashley
