Hi, what is the best way to transfer between Disney hotels? The first part of our stay is at the Swan, and then we are transferring to the Polynesian. Does Disney have it's own Uber brand? Should we book a private car? Thanks much!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Taryl!

My family and I recently enjoyed a “split stay” where we stayed at two Walt Disney World Resort hotels during our visit. One of the best things about transferring to a different hotel on the Walt Disney World Resort property is that they’ll move your luggage for you! Just call down to the bell services station at the Walt Disney World Swan Hotel and let them know that you’ll be transferring to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. They’ll send someone with a luggage cart and special ID tags and will give you a receipt with the ID tag numbers. Then your items will be magically whisked away! When you arrive at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, just let them know that you had your luggage transferred and they’ll have it delivered to your room.

Please keep in mind that since this service is available at all official Walt Disney World Resort hotels, it can take some time for your items to be transferred between hotels. I would definitely recommend keeping items you know you’ll need for the day in a backpack or day bag that you can keep with you.

As far as transferring yourselves between hotels, you have a couple of options. First of all, if you plan to visit a Walt Disney World Resort Theme Park on the day you’ll check out of one hotel and into the other, you can simply use Disney’s complimentary Resort Transportation from the Theme Park to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. If you’d like to go there directly from the Walt Disney World Swan Hotel, you might want to consider the Disney Minnie Van Service Connected by Lyft. This is a paid transportation service that you can book via the Lyft app on your smartphone. I’ve had the opportunity to use the Minnie Van Service several times and I absolutely love it.

Enjoy your visit to Walt Disney World Resort, Taryl. Let us know if you have any more questions--we’re here to help!
