Hi there, Pamela!
There is no bad time to go to
Walt Disney World, but if you have the option to go when it's not peak season, you may find the
Walt Disney World resort hotels a bit less expensive. You also might see
special offers if you travel in less busy seasons.
When are those seasons? Think of times children are off from school - those are times families are able to go without their kids missing days. Busy holiday weekends, like President's Day or Memorial Day, and the time when many kids are off for spring break - usually around Easter - are likely to be priced a bit higher than other times of the year. Major holidays, like Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Year's are definitely peak season. Many families have no choice but to go during these times when kids are on vacation, but if you can avoid them, you might save a few dollars.
I would look at time frames AFTER school breaks. The second week in January, when the holidays are over is pretty good, as is the time from after President's weekend through early to mid-March. The second half of August, when many southern schools are back in session is less busy, and most of the days through September are usually value season.
The trade off to going during these low seasons is that the theme parks tend to have shorter hours. Where you might see the
Magic Kingdom open until 10 PM or later during busy seasons, the park generally closes by 8 PM when it's less busy.
Good luck picking the perfect time for your magical Walt Disney World vacation!
Anna
