What is the best time of day to visit the water parks and how much time should a 25 year old expect to plan for in the water parks?

We are HUGE water park fans. As a family, the consistently best times we've ever had at WDW have been at Blizzard Beach. And for Disney fans like us, that's really saying something.

There are two schools of thought on when to enter the water parks: come first thing or come near closing time. Some people (OK, me) think the best thing to do is show up first thing in the morning, so you can get in some good runs on the most popular slides before it gets super-crowded. We were at Typhoon Lagoon last month and got in about 5 rides on Crushin' Gusher before there was any line at all.

Other people think that early birds (like me) are crazy because the water is still pretty darn cold at 10:00 in the morning. Their theory is to show up at a water park about 4 hours before it closes and stay until closing. The thinking behind this is that the early birds will be leaving the park mid-afternoon (which is exactly what we do), thus freeing up more space for the later arrivers. This may indeed work very well, but I've never done it this way.

Most people seem to get about what they want to out of the water parks in about 4-5 hours. You certainly can make a longer day of it if you want to. If you bring books and games and relax in between slides and swims, then you easily stay from open to close. We tend to just go non-stop for several hours, grab lunch, and then leave.

I must say that the water parks are TIRING! There are a lot of stairs to climb to get to all those great slides. If you do a lot, you can get a great work out there. After a few hours at a water park I always feel like I've EARNED one of those super-yummy funnel cakes they sell there.

Hope you have a great trip.
