When is the best time to cruise? And if your child is months from being three at the time of cruise and potty trained will they allow her in the kid areas that are for 3 and older so my husband and I can have dinner or go to the spa? And do the royal tea?

    Ahoy, Kathleen!

I'm excited you are thinking about taking the plunge and reserving your spot onboard one of Disney Cruise Line's magnificent vessels. It is a vacation like no other that allows your family to create some unforgettable memories. There's a lot to consider when planning a voyage with Mickey, so you've come to the right place for help!

Kathleen, I've cruised every month of the yEAR, and they all have their perks, but I do have two favorites that I'm happy to share with you. May stands out in my mind because the weather is warm, but not too hot yet. It's a lovely time to visit The Bahamas and the Caribbean if you are thinking about those particular itineraries. Another time of yEAR that I enjoy is during the Very Merrytime Cruises. Disney Cruise Line knows how to celebrate the season uniquely, especially with all the holiday fun available onboard and at Disney Castaway Cay! The decor is just dazzling from stem to stern!

The Disney Cruise Line youth programming is the best at sea in my opinion, Kathleen. My kiddos have grown up experiencing all these spaces have to offer, and they've enjoyed every minute. What makes these areas so fantastic is their commitment to safety. For that reason, they are very strict about the minimum age requirement of three even if your little one is potty trained. If you decide you want to sail before your child turns three, "it's a small world" nursery! is available for childcare while you and your husband enjoy Palo or Remy and the Senses Spa. There is a nominal hourly fee for the reservations you'll secure ahead of time. This space is bright, interactive and the counselors are fabulous so you'll be able to enjoy the adult-only offerings with ease.

At this time, the Royal Court Royal Tea Party is offered for Guests three and over. This will be the perfect activity to reserve for your second Disney Cruise!

Thank you for reaching out with your questions, Kathleen. We'd love to assist you again if you think of anything else. Good luck with your planning!
