Hey there, Hi there, Ho there, Zachary! Welcome to planDisney!
Currently, most things at Walt Disney World require a reservation. From hotel stays to theme park days to full-service dining to building your own droid, it can become overwhelming. So, let me break it all down for you.
Let’s start at the beginning. Once you’ve made your hotel reservation, it’s time to go into your MyDisneyExperience and link that reservation up. This will tell the system which days to be looking for you to be booking other experiences. Most people then make their theme park reservations. If you have 4 or more park days, then it is kind of an easy call, you simply make a reservation for one park each day of your vacation. This can be done on the MyDisneyExperience
website or the
mobile app.
When your vacation is 60 days away, you can begin making those “other” reservations. These include dining reservations, as well as some of the “enchanting extras” like
Savi’s Workshop to build a lightsaber, or a
Fireworks cruise.
While at the Walt Disney World resort, you will find that if you don’t have a dining reservation, it isn’t a big deal. Ordering food on the app is a breeze! We also were able to join some same-day walk-up lists. This worked very well in Magic Kingdom. I simply opened the app, clicked on the plus in the bottom middle, and selected “Check Dining Availability”. I entered my party size and selected that same day and “now” as the time. We got into
Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen for 40 minutes in the future. It was just enough time to ride one more attraction before eating.
I hope this helps with planning your next Walt Disney World vacation! Please come back and ask us other questions that you might have!
Happy Reservation-Making,
Tracy
