Best way to resort hop with children (ages 6 & 9) starting from Art of Animation? Any must see/do at some resorts?

    Welcome back to planDisney, Krista!

Ka-chow! I am excited to hear you and your family will begin the New Year at Walt Disney World Resort! I stayed at Disney's Art of Animation Resort for the first time this spring, and your kiddos are going to love everything about it! Have your camera ready to take photos with all the character statues throughout the property, and enjoy splashing around The Big Blue Pool (fun fact: it is the largest pool on Walt Disney World property!), and don't forget to enjoy yourself with a Frosé or Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar from The Drop Off Pool Bar!

What I also love about this resort is that it is on the Disney Skyliner route, making travel to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios a breeze. On the Skyliner, there are a couple of Disney Resort hotels that you can stop and visit, including Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, and Disney's Riviera Resort. Disney's Pop Century Resort connects to Art of Animation via the Generation Gap Bridge!

Once you get to EPCOT, instead of heading to the International Gateway entrance, make a right, and you'll be able to walk around Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, Disney's BoardWalk Inn, and Disney's BoardWalk. At the BoardWalk, enjoy classic arcade games, and rent a Surrey Bike! When you arrive at Disney's Magic Kingdom Park, you can head to the Monorail station and visit Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney's Grand Floridan Resort & Spa.

I recommend a breakfast at one of the Disney Resort hotels in the BoardWalk area, or on the monorail! It is the best way to experience the resort and walk around the grounds too. Some of the best character meals can be found at some of these resorts, as well as table service! For character dining, I recommend Cape May Cafe at Beach Club and 'Ohana at the Polynesian. For a sit-down meal without characters, look into Grand Floridian Cafe, Ale & Compass Restaurant, and Steakhouse 71.

Krista, as a Guest visiting in 2025, you will also have the opportunity to visit one of Disney's Water Parks on your check-in day! This is another fun opportunity for your kiddos to experience Walt Disney World! Thank you again for visiting planDisney!

    Magic Awaits!
