What is the best way to plan for a visit if we would like to split our time between two resorts? We would like to reserve 3-4 nights at Boardwalk and 3-4 nights at Polynesian. I would appreciate any suggestions for a magical stay. Thank you so much!

Hi Danielle! Welcome back to planDisney!

Your choices of Disney Resorts Collection hotels are setting you up for a vacation of MY dreams and I'm a little jealous that it's you going on that trip and not me! Both of the Resorts you've chosen are absolutely incredible when it comes to dining options, theming and proximity to the Parks.  If anyone asks me for their best split-stay recommendation, this will be it!

I love making split-stay reservations because it lets my family try out more than one Resort per visit, and when it comes to Disney theming, it feels like more than one world!  First, you'll be whisked away to the tropics and have time to lounge under the swaying palm trees with a DOLE Whip in hand, and before you know it, you'll be strolling Disney's BoardWalk, catching live entertainment and watching the sun set over Crescent Lake.

To book a split-stay you'll need two reservations.  You can make these online on the Walt Disney World website or with the help of a Cast Member at (407) 939-5277.  If you choose to make these reservations on your own just remember to book the second Resort "check-in" day on the same day as the first Resort "check-out."  The wonderful Cast Members at Bell Services will be able to handle your luggage and have it moved from one resort to the other, just like magic!  However, sometimes magic takes a little time, so I would suggest packing a small bag with necessities that you may need in the interim.  During our last split-stay we didn't do this, and I had a VERY unhappy toddler who was missing her blankie at nap time!

With your My Disney Experience account you should be able to complete your Online Check-In for both Resorts, allowing you to see when your second room is ready! A perfect split-stay day might have you dropping your bags at Bell Services at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort in the morning, fueling up on Tonga Toast at Kona Cafe, riding Disney's Monorail to EPCOT for a quick trip around the world, and quietly strolling to your new "home" on the BoardWalk after watching Harmonious.  Ahhhh, sounds glorious!

I hope you and your family enjoy what seems to be a perfectly planned split-stay.  Come back and see us again if you have any other questions!

Hi All, I'm Ashley! From the very beginning Walt Disney World Resort has always been a part of my life. As a child I excitedly helped to plan family trips, as a young adult I planned our "happily ever after" right on Disney property, and now I'm lucky enough to plan magical vacations for my three incredible children. When we're not taking in the enchanting experiences of the parks, we're home in Massachusetts, probably planning our next trip! Learn More About Ashley
