Catherine,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
There are several fantastic resorts near the
Magic Kingdom Park. Let me review some of the choices.
First off, there are the Monorail resorts. They all are right there, in direct view of the Magic Kingdom. They include
Disney's Contemporary Resort,
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. As the name suggests, you are only a short monorail ride (or in some cases a brief walk) away from the park. All are deluxe resorts, so they are on the more expensive end of the spectrum, but they are well themed hotels with a wide array of amenities.
Your next choices are all just a boat ride away.
Disney's Wilderness Lodge is also a deluxe, but a bit lower than the monorail resorts in overall cost. Near there is the Fort Wilderness area, which includes RV and camping sites, as well as
The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. The Cabins are considered moderates, and they offer accommodations that are both uniquely featured, and offer a more secluded setting.
So those are your initial choices that keep you physically close to the Magic Kingdom. But do not let those be your own options. Even though other resorts might be further away,
Disney Resort Transportation keeps all of Walt Disney World's different venues within easy reach!
PERSONAL CALL
My favorite is, and will always be, the Polynesian. But the rest of my family is partial to the Grand Floridian. But there are no bad choices in the Disney resort hotels, so look at theme, location, and pricing, and decide what best matches your magical wishes!
Write me back if you want to talk about options in more detail.
Have a Magical Vacation!
