Apryl,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
While there are plenty of great places to grab a quick bite within the Magic Kingdom, my favorite sit-down lunches are found at the resorts just outside the park gates. Let me give you some options, both quick service and table service, so you can review their menus and decide what is going to hit the spot!
Table ServiceKona Cafe - With just a quick monorail ride to
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, you are transported to an island paradise, complete with sushi, poke bowls, but also more traditional classics.
The
Grand Floridian Cafe is an often-overlooked choice that has salads, sandwiches, and even a few breakfast carryovers!
Counter ServiceCaptain Cook's is also at the Polynesian and offers a few exotic options next to so many American lunch classics.
While the Whispering Canyon Cafe is one of my favorite restaurants at Walt Disney World, both for the food and the entertainment, it is not a 'short time' visit. But the
Geyser Point Bar & Grill has amazing lakeside views and a very adventurous menu, considering most think it will just be bar food. The
Roaring Fork quick service restaurant is another good choice. In both cases, they provide you a chance to explore one of the wonderfully themed hotels and enjoy a leisurely boat ride!
With all these recommendations, you are just a monorail or boat ride away from a quick and delicious lunch break!
BONUS TIPThere is actually a walking path from the Magic Kingdom gates to
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, but it is a long walk (more than 1/2 mile, or 1 km), so I would ride the rails instead. The monorail, that is!
Please feel free to
write me back directly if you have any follow-up questions.
Have a Magical Vacation!
