Hi Jennifer!
Thanks for bringing this question to planDisney!
Happily Ever After is my absolute favorite nighttime show at Disney World, so I’m happy to help out! My family has a few go-to spots to watch the fireworks at
Magic Kingdom, depending on the view and crowd levels we want.
If you’re hoping for a spot in front of Cinderella Castle so you can see the projections, any spot in that main hub area is great! It’s good to note that you’ll need to stake out your spot early since it’s a popular area, especially with the new
Starlight parade making its way through that area before the fireworks. I’d plan to find a spot at least an hour early.
If you’re up for splurging a bit, I highly recommend booking a
Magic Kingdom fireworks dessert party if there’s still availability! That gives you a perfect view without needing to worry about crowds.
My current favorite spot to watch the fireworks, though, is from behind the castle! While you can’t see the projections, as a mom to 3 young boys, having space away from the crowds really makes it more enjoyable for us. I like to snag a spot directly behind Cinderella Castle, near
Prince Charming Regal Carrousel, or near the Tangled bathrooms by
Peter Pan’s Flight.
If you decide to watch from behind the castle, there’s really no need to get there early. So, enjoy the attractions in the meantime!
I hope that helps! We’ll see you real soon!
