Stephanie,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
Right there on the
BoardWalk itself is the
BoardWalk Ice Cream Store, smack dab in the middle of all that wonderful turn-of-the-century fun! It is a great venue for families, especially if someone in the group has some dietary restrictions, since they also offer some plant-based and no sugar added options. It is a great place to grab a cone and enjoy the evening on the BoardWalk!
But that is not the only place to get a sweet treat in the area. Just across the lake is the
Beaches and Cream Soda Shop, which is famous for its
Kitchen Sink Sundae. It would likely require a reservation to sit down for that epic treat, though they do have a to-go menu as well.
One other thought is at the nearby
Disney’s Riviera Resort.
Primo Piatto is not your everyday resort food court, and you can find a few varieties of gelato there. It is not scooped by hand, but already packaged, however if your tastes head that way, it can be a nice alternative.
To your final question, no final opening date has been set for the Cake Bake Shop, though it is coming in 2023. Their cake, as you and I both know, is something just a notch above what most would expect, and well worth the indulgence. Until then, we can both enjoy the Carmel, Indiana location and dream of cake on the BoardWalk!
Have a Magical Vacation!Doug
